吃瓜网 students, faculty, staff and community members recently gathered to share their responses as part of the Frances Young Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery鈥檚 public art project, 鈥淔or Freedoms.鈥�
鈥淔or Freedoms鈥� is a national initiative to deepen public discussions of civic issues and explain that citizenship is defined by participation, not by ideology. The program, too, is modeling how arts institutions can become civic forums for action and discussion of values, place and patriotism.
The signs, which resemble political campaign signs, are inspired by the Four Freedoms that were articulated by Franklin Delano Roosevelt in 1941 鈥� freedom of speech, freedom of worship, freedom from want, and freedom from fear.
The "For Freedoms" exhibit will be on display through the November elections.
