Description: Pablo Mitchell is Professor of History and Comparative American Studies and Affiliate
of the Gender, Sexuality, and Feminist Studies at Oberlin College (OH). Pablos publications
include History of Latinos: Exploring Diverse Roots (Greenwood Press, 2014); West
of Sex: Making Mexican America, 1900-1930 (University of Chicago Press, 2012); and,
Coyote Nation: Sexuality, Race, and Conquest in Modernizing New Mexico, 1880-1920
(University of Chicago Press, 2005). Pablos most recent work has focused on challenging
the conventional wisdom which holds that Latinx folks are a recent addition to the
academy, not arriving on the college and university scene in the United States until
the 1960s or later.

Dialogues on Black Dimensions in Art

Associate Professor of Sociology and African American Black Diasporic Studies at Boston
University, and Up to Us exhibiting artist ransome. They will discuss the Black Arts

of the Mohawk Nation at Akwesasne, has shared stories for more than 35 years.
