First-generation student support

At ³Ô¹ÏÍø, we’re proud to support and celebrate students who are the first in their families to attend college. First-generation students bring important perspectives, resilience, and a strong sense of purpose to campus life.

Whether you’re just getting started or already deep into your ³Ô¹ÏÍø experience, you’ll find a welcoming community with the people and programs to help you succeed — academically, personally, and professionally.

Our community

You’re considered first-generation if your parent or guardian hasn’t earned a four-year degree. Students whose parents studied outside the U.S. may also identify this way. At ³Ô¹ÏÍø, you’re part of a valued and growing community with faculty, staff, and peers who understand your experience and are here to support you.

What you’ll find

Advising and mentorship

Connect with faculty and staff who know the first-gen journey and care about your well-being. They can help you navigate course selection, manage your responsibilities, and plan for what comes next.

Peer Academic Coaching (PACs)

PACs are trained student coaches who provide one-on-one help with study skills, time management, and college-level learning. Many are first-gen students themselves and know what it takes to find your footing.

Financial aid and planning

The Office of Financial Aid offers personalized support to help you understand your award, complete required forms, and plan for each academic year. You don’t have to go it alone.

Career development

³Ô¹Ï꿉۪s Career Development Center helps first-generation students connect their education with future opportunities. Whether you’re exploring internships or thinking about graduate school, you’ll get personalized guidance and support.

Belonging and community

You’ll be part of a community that celebrates your experience. From student gatherings to first-gen alumni events, there are plenty of ways to meet people, build friendships, and find your place.
